Fund the Mission

Girl Scouts of Central Maryland would like to thank the many individuals, corporations and foundations who support our mission. Funding the Mission locally means that you are ensuring that today’s girls become tomorrow’s leaders as they build their courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place.

Empowering Girls
As Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Girls grow courageous and strong through a wide variety of enriching experiences, such as field trips, skill-building sports clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships.

Girl Scouts helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.

As an investor, your donation makes a difference in the lives of the 25,000 girls served annually.

Every girl can benefit from the experiences that summer camp buys, and no Girl Scout should miss camp because of a lack of funds. When you give for camperships you give financial assistance that is awarded to a Girl Scout to allow her to attend a Girl Scout summer camp program within the Council.

Planned Gifts/Juliette Gordon Low Society

Juliette’s outstanding leadership was matched by her stewardship when she converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters, and she gifted the property to Girl Scouts in her will.

Juliette’s bequest was the beginning of planned giving to Girl Scouts. In her memory, the Juliette Gordon Low Society was established to thank and honor friends of Girl Scouting who choose to make Girl Scouts part of their legacies and a beneficiary of their estate plans. Providing a gift to Girl Scouts in your estate plans can include naming Girl Scouts as beneficiary of a:

  • Will
  • Retirement Plan
  • Living Trust
  • Donor Advised Fund
  • Life Insurance Policy
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Remainder Gift of Real Estate
  • Any other gift that benefits Girl Scouts in the future

As a member of GSCM’s Juliette Gordon Low Society, you will be invited to attend special recognition and educational events. Other benefits include updates and news as well as becoming listed as a Society member in select Girl Scout publications and/or website, access to digital resources and a special membership lapel pin.

If you have already named GSCM as the beneficiary of a planned gift, let us know. We will welcome you as a Juliette Gordon Low Society member.

If you would like more information about how you can become a member in a manner that benefits you, your heirs and Girl Scouts – please contact Katrina Straker, Chief Development Officer, kstraker@gscm.org or 410.358.9711 ext 232.
